With aggressive goals and ongoing investments in equitable climate solutions, Minnesota is positioned as a national clean energy leader.

But to reach our goal, carbon-free electricity by 2040, we need to double the rate at which we’re building renewable energy. The Minnesota Energy Infrastructure Permitting Act (HF 4700 - Long / SF 4784 - Frentz) will help us meet this challenge.

With just days remaining in the state legislative session, we need policymakers to act fast, passing both a strong Minnesota Energy Infrastructure Permitting Act and a full Energy omnibus bill. We can speed the siting of wind, solar, storage, and transmission while preserving all of Minnesota’s existing environmental protections and opportunities for public engagement.

But we have to do it in the next few days.
